Ukraine will receive 200 Rosomak armored personnel carriers from Poland, which will be delivered in batches.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the first 100 vehicles will arrive now, and another 100 Rosomak will be delivered later.
“Regarding Rosomak armored personnel carriers, 200 vehicles, now 100, and 100 to follow-up. As well as self-propelled mortars, additional missiles, MiGs,” Zelensky said.
The President also noted that Poland has fulfilled everything it had declared regarding tanks, including Leopard.
He also mentioned that there are new agreements on IFVs, and Ukraine should receive over a hundred vehicles.
Zelensky noted that he was pleased to end this week with good results for our state:
It was earlier reported that the European Union and the United States will jointly fund the purchase of Rosomak armored vehicles for Ukraine.
Rosomak with an 8×8 wheel arrangement is a licensed version of the Finnish Patria AMV wheeled armored vehicle. It is produced in Poland in both the IFV and APC versions in accordance with the December 2002 contract.
The armored personnel carrier is operated by a crew of three. The landing compartment in the aft part of the car is designed for eight fighters.
Soldiers leave the APC through aft doors or upper hatches. APC’s armor protects from 14.5mm bullets in the front and 7.62mm on the sides.
The vehicle accelerates to a speed of 100 km/h and can overcome water obstacles at a speed of up to 10 km/h.
The APC became the basis for several modifications of various purposes, which came into service with the Polish army.
