Ukraine shared detailed information with Taiwan on Taiwanese-made components found in samples of Russian weapons.

Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te said that his country strongly supports Ukraine, in particular by participating in coordinated international sanctions against Russia.

The Taiwanese side also expressed its readiness to continue exchanging information with Kyiv. Such cooperation is aimed at stopping illegal supplies of spare parts to third countries and preventing the hidden end use of products.

Lai Ching-te stressed that any assistance to the aggressor state is unacceptable. He emphasized that violations of international embargoes and export control rules undermine global security.

“We remain clear: any assistance to the aggressor or violations of int’l embargoes & export control regulations are unacceptable. We pray for peace to be restored to Ukraine soon,” said the President of Taiwan.

Back in 2023, information emerged that, despite large-scale international sanctions, Russia continued to receive high-tech equipment from Taiwan through intermediary schemes.

In particular, since January 2023, the Russian company I Machine Technology has imported complex equipment classified as tools for numerically controlled machine tools worth more than $20 million, manufactured in Taiwan.
