Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received 1400 Senator armored vehicles.

Roman Shimonov, Founder and CEO of Roshel Inc., told this in his interview with Army Recognition during MSPO 2024.

“As I said, we have delivered fourteen hundred vehicles to Ukraine,” he said.

The transfer of these armored vehicles first became known on April 13, 2022, when the Canadian government announced $500 million in aid to Ukraine. The first contract was for only 8 vehicles.

However, this number has been gradually increasing, and in January 2013, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced the provision of 200 Roshel Senator armored vehicles.

In her conversation with journalists, Anita Anand discussed plans to transfer 200 more Senator armored personnel carriers to Ukraine as part of international military assistance. The announced equipment has an estimated value of more than $90 million.

In December 2023, it became known that the Canadian company Roshel handed over the 1000th Senator armored vehicles to Ukraine. Roman Shimonov, Founder and CEO of Roshel Inc., hailed the achievement.

The last time the number of transferred vehicles was reported was on June 5. Then, during an interview with Economic Pravda, Roman Shimonov said that except for the decision to open a plant in Ukraine, Roshel had already delivered 1140 armored vehicles to Ukraine.

Thus, in three summer months, Ukraine received 360 new Roshel Senator armored vehicles.

Roshel Senator

The Senator armored vehicle is built on a Ford heavy-duty truck base. The company’s specialists are carrying out a major modernization of the civilian base to enable the armored vehicle to be used in the near-front and frontline areas. The ballistic protection provides the ability to withstand 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm caliber bullets at a distance of 30 meters at a speed of 695 m/s.

In the MRAP version, the armored vehicle received STANAG lvl 2b protection, which provides protection against 6 kg of explosives and anti-tank mines.

With this level of protection, the vehicle is equipped with a 400-horsepower engine that provides excellent off-road performance. The vehicle is also equipped with a central tire inflation system.
