The Ukrainian military received UAVs for mine clearance from Denmark as part of the aid package.
These drones enable sappers to remotely scan areas and identify locations with explosive objects.
Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk, First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, reported on this.
Denmark handed over modern drones to the State Transport Special Service of Ukraine for the pre-demining technical inspection of territories.
The scanners that the drones are equipped with can detect magnetic anomalies in the ground, and water and its surface.
It is reported that they are able to “see” any metal objects at a depth of up to three meters.
“Modern technical means allow Ukrainian sappers to remotely scan territories and determine places where explosive objects are located, along with other objects that pose a risk to people’s lives,” Lieutenant General Pavliuk stressed.
The crew of such a system consists of two people – an operator and a pilot. They have been training in Denmark for three weeks. According to Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, Ukraine received six such drones.
Ukrainian military personnel were taught the technical components of the system and underwent practical training using drones on the ground.
Specialists and received UAVs are already successfully working on the detection of explosive objects, the First Deputy Minister of Defense noted.
Militarnyi previously reported that the Croatian DOK-ING and the Danish Hydrema agreed with Ukrainian manufacturers on the localization of the mine clearance vehicle production in Ukraine.
At the end of June, Denmark has announced the 11th aid package from the Danish National Ukraine Fund to purchase ammunition and air defense systems. The Kingdom of Denmark will donate about $190 million to Ukraine.
