Ukraine is prepared to share its unique experience in overcoming a naval blockade to help restore maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently under attack by Iran.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the successful strategy employed by Ukraine’s Armed Forces in the Black Sea in 2023–2024 could serve as a model for addressing the unfolding global energy crisis, according to Politico.

During a recent visit to Middle Eastern countries, the Ukrainian delegation stressed that Kyiv aims not only to supply weapons, but also to provide advanced defense expertise and strategic know-how.

Ukraine has effectively created a functioning system to counter a superior Russian fleet, managing to sink a significant portion of the aggressor’s ships and push the rest away from its shores.

This case is highly relevant to the Strait of Hormuz, through which one-fifth of global energy supplies pass.

Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz

The situation in the region escalated after Iran blocked the passage in response to attacks by the United States and Israel, while President Donald Trump called on allies to provide immediate assistance in reopening the route.

Although over 20 countries have joined the U.S.-led initiative, most are seeking to avoid direct military confrontation with Tehran.
