A forum dedicated to the development of electronic warfare (EW) in the army was held in Ukraine.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The event was attended by representatives of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense, relevant ministries and companies producing electronic warfare systems.
During the forum, Lieutenant General Anatolii Bargylevych, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted that electronic warfare was one of the priorities for the army.
“We have to do everything necessary to ensure that electronic warfare technologies are developed as soon as possible, taking into account the range of enemy use of its means,” the Chief of the General Staff emphasized.
According to the forum participants, the main tasks for Ukraine today are to accelerate the development of samples and to normalize and simplify the codification procedure. Also, to scale up the production of electronic warfare systems and to train military personnel to operate them effectively.
The forum was told that the number of UAVs being used was growing every month, as was the number of their modifications. Today, the damage caused by drones reaches 60%. Therefore, the development of electronic warfare systems, their maximum efficiency and supply to the army in sufficient quantities is an issue that needs to be addressed promptly.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has identified the development of electronic warfare systems as a priority.
The General Staff said that there were three ways to develop electronic warfare:
In addition, special attention should be paid to the system of support for domestic producers at the stages of development and codification of electronic warfare systems.
Currently, a system for testing the latest samples is organized and functioning. The Armed Forces are also forming experimental combat units to conduct such tests in combat conditions, conclusions of which greatly simplify the codification of products.
Today, the number of Ukrainian samples of electronic warfare equipment has increased significantly – up to two hundred. During the forum, manufacturers of electronic warfare systems had the opportunity not only to share their vision of the industry’s development, but also to present some of the latest developments.
