Ukrainian defenders have successfully downed 1,000 Russian drones as part of the Let the Drones Fall project by the Come Back Alive Foundation.

The Foundation reported the milestone on social media, highlighting its ongoing efforts to counter enemy UAVs.

Next, the Foundation aims to take down 1,500 Russian reconnaissance drones using advanced interceptor drones.

The primary targets of the Let the Drones Fall project were various types of Russian reconnaissance UAVs. However, the list also included enemy attack drones intended to strike Ukrainian forces on the front lines and in frontline areas.

“Today, the project’s counter hit that long-awaited number—a milestone achieved through the efforts of dozens of our team members and even more defenders within the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the Foundation stated in its announcement.

This number represents lives saved—both civilian and military, in the rear and on the front lines. Russian reconnaissance drones are often followed by missiles, artillery shells, attack UAVs, and other deadly weapons the enemy uses to harm Ukrainians.

As part of the fundraising for the Let the Drones Fall project, which launched on August 7, 2024, over UAH 230 million was raised. The initiative has helped equip 55 units tasked with countering enemy drones.

The Come Back Alive Foundation also reported that the Let the Drones Fall project has inflicted approximately UAH 2,690,178,750 in losses on the enemy.

“Thanks to our reliable partners at OKKO, who are always ready to jump into action, this project doesn’t stop here. The next aim is 1,500 downed reconnaissance drones,” the Foundation stated.

The Come Back Alive Foundation also expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the fundraiser.

The project involves not only the purchase of interceptor drones, but also the creation and provision of soldiers with pickup trucks, communications, power, and night optics.

External pilots of the Ukrainian air defense became perhaps the first in the world to use interceptor drones to shoot down enemy drones in combat conditions.
