Ukraine has developed the Bambetel ground drone, which can be controlled simultaneously via a fiber-optic link and a radio channel.
Skelia Systems said that, together with KB-MEGATECH, it has developed a low-signature ground drone.
KB-MEGATECH’s Bambetel is equipped with a fiber-optic communications system supplied by Skelia Systems, with a backup radio control channel.
The dual-channel setup is intended to improve survivability and reliability.
The fiber-optic link enables high-speed data transmission and is resistant to electronic warfare interference.
The drone can travel up to 20 km and carry a payload of up to 20 kg.
Skelia Systems said the drone has successfully completed testing and is ready for combat use.
The stated technical specifications include an operating range of up to 20 km and a maximum speed of 15 km/h.
An electric motor powers the drone and has a weight of 25 kg.
Drone dimensions: length – 1,150 mm, width – 670 mm, height – 420 mm.
The communications system uses two channels: a digital fiber-optic link with a Full HD camera and control via the CRSF protocol, and a backup radio link relayed through a UAV and a repeater.
It was recently reported that Russian ground drones have begun assisting in building crossings over small rivers.
