The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved a resolution to expand the DOT-Chain Defence digital platform into a defense procurement tool, allowing military units to directly order weapons and equipment based on operational needs.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine said the new platform — DOT-Chain Defence — will provide frontline units with access to an approved catalog of weapons and gear, enabling faster, more transparent procurement with reduced bureaucracy.
“The military will see exactly what, from whom, and when it will be delivered. This means better planning, fewer delays, and improved quality,” Defence Minister Rustem Umierov said.
The system will function as a digital marketplace where units can choose and order equipment directly.
The Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) will handle funding, contracts, and delivery, while the State Logistics Operator (DPO) will manage logistics.
The first stage of the rollout will cover FPV drones, with plans to include other UAVs, electronic warfare systems, and ground-based robotic platforms. The platform is set to launch with initial suppliers and military units in July.
Officials say the new system offers several benefits: greater autonomy for the military in selecting equipment, faster procurement cycles, and a reduction in paperwork. Manufacturers will receive real-time demand signals and feedback, while the DPA and DPO gain access to analytics, contract oversight, and logistics tracking.
DOT-Chain Defence is an extension of the existing DOT-Chain system, which has managed supplies of food, clothing, and other logistics for the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2023.
A similar initiative — Brave1 Market — was launched in April 2025. Like DOT-Chain Defence, it operates as a secure digital storefront for military-grade products.
