Ukraine Receives 11 Requests From Countries Needing Help Countering Drones

Ukraine has received 11 requests from Iran’s neighbors, European countries, and the US for security support in countering Iranian Shaheds and other similar threats.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the president, these countries are interested in the experience of the Ukrainian military, in particular in the use of interception means, electronic warfare systems, and conducting relevant training.

“Ukraine is ready to respond positively to requests from those who help us protect the lives of Ukrainians and the independence of Ukraine. We have already responded to some of the requests with specific decisions and concrete support,“ Zelensky said.

He stressed that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, together with the General Staff and the Ukrainian Armed Forces, will determine which other requests Ukraine can respond to positively “so as not to reduce our own ability to defend ourselves.”

“Ukraine’s priority is clear: the Iranian regime must not gain any advantage over the defenders of life, and we must all work together to achieve tangible stabilization both in the region and in global markets,” the president said.

In addition, Zelensky noted that Ukraine has long been proposing to its partners to strengthen joint defense capabilities.

According to him, this involves not only protection against drones and missiles, but also the destruction of “the relevant production facilities of the aggressor regimes” where weapons used in the current attacks are manufactured.

“Each of these regimes has set itself against the world, and responses to this are needed. Every production site for Shahed drones is known. The Iranian and Russian regimes support each other, and there is more and more information, in particular, about Russian components in the ‘kamikaze drones’ that are striking Iran’s neighbors. The world is definitely stronger than anyone who tries to destabilize it. We expect our partners to be sufficiently decisive,” the head of state added.

As a reminder, on March 8, Zelensky announced that the first group from Ukraine, which will assist the Gulf countries with military expertise in repelling Iranian drone attacks, will arrive in the Middle East next week.

The request for assistance came from the United States on March 5. And the Ukrainian team left for their destination on March 9.

Strengthening the protection of American facilities in Jordan is strategically important as the war in Iran expands beyond its borders. Ukraine is using this opportunity to demonstrate the advantages of its drone interception technologies on a new front.
