The United Kingdom has allocated £700 million ($944 million) for the procurement of artillery shells, anti-aircraft, and long-range missiles for Ukraine in 2025.
A correspondent of Militarnyi reported on this, citing UK Defence Secretary John Healey during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
Out of this amount, over the past two months, weapons worth more than £150 million ($202.5 million) have already been delivered to Ukraine. This includes air defense systems and artillery ammunition. It is reported that the procurement of hundreds of air defense missiles and thousands of artillery shells was underway.
In total, the United Kingdom has allocated £4.5 billion ($6.075 billion) in non-repayable military aid to Ukraine from its 2025 budget. It is reported that a significant portion of the remaining funds would be used to procure drones, as well as to cover critical maintenance and repair contracts for previously supplied British weapons. This will allow damaged equipment to be returned to the front line as quickly as possible.
In May, the United Kingdom signed an agreement with Ukraine for additional military support worth £2.26 billion ($3.051 billion). This support will be funded through proceeds from frozen Russian assets. More than two-thirds of these funds have already been allocated for the purchase of weapons and ammunition.
This aid for Ukraine is part of a mechanism introduced by the G7 countries, with a total value of $50 billion.
An additional £1.6 billion ($2.16 billion) was provided as a loan for the purchase of British RapidRanger air defense systems and 5,000 Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMM) for them.
In addition to arms deliveries, the intergovernmental agreement also includes the transfer of LMM missile technology and the subsequent localization of its production in Ukraine.
The UK Defence Secretary also announced that the British government supported the initiative to purchase weapons from the United States and transfer them to Ukraine. Therefore, the UK government will play a full role in implementing this initiative — to strengthen Ukraine’s defense and ensure the security of Europe as a whole.
In addition, the minister stated that since March, the UK had delivered 50,000 drones to Ukraine. Another 20,000 drones were provided in cooperation with Latvia as part of the joint Drone Coalition. In total, London has allocated £350 million ($472.5 million) in 2025 to increase drone deliveries from 10,000 in 2024 to 100,000 in 2025.
During the meeting, the United Kingdom and Germany will announce a new agreement on jointly supplying Ukraine with air defense munitions.
The agreement will be implemented within the framework of the air defense coalition, led by Germany and France. Germany will provide over €170 million, which the UK will use for the rapid procurement of air defense systems for Ukraine.
