UAVs Attack Tatsinskaya Railway Station in Russia’s Rostov Region

In the early hours of August 5, drones targeted the Tatsinskaya railway station in Russia’s Rostov region, sparking a fire on the premises.

Astra and local residents reported the incident on social media.

While the exact source of the fire remains unknown, Astra geolocated eyewitness videos and confirmed that the footage was indeed captured at the Tatsinskaya station.

Later, the region’s acting governor merely stated that a shed had allegedly caught fire in the yard of a private house in the village of Tatsinskaya, where the station of the same name is located.

He also stated that Russian air defense had repelled a massive aerial attack in several districts of the Rostov region. Fires were reported as well, including at a substation.

“There were outbreaks of fire. In the village of Verkhnetalovka, Millerovo district, a substation caught fire. The blaze, covering an area of 500 square meters, was extinguished. In the village of Tatsinskaya, a shed in the yard of a private house caught fire. The flames were quickly put out. No one was injured,” Yuriy Slyusar wrote.

The site is located about 250 kilometers from the combat zone in Ukraine. According to open sources, the station plays a key role in logistics and supports the operations of the Tatsinskaya oil depot.

In the morning, Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed that 24 UAVs had allegedly been shot down overnight.

Specifically, 13 were reportedly intercepted over the Bryansk region, 7 over the Rostov region, 2 over the Kaluga region, and 2 over the Smolensk region.

On the night of August 4, a drone attack on the Archeda railway hub in Russia’s Volgograd region caused a fire at the station’s dispatch building.

It was also reported that relay cabinets, responsible for automatic train movement control and the safe management of railway traffic, were hit.

The railway infrastructure in Frolovo holds historical significance for domestic transportation within the aggressor state. It is also one of the key hubs for long-distance routes deep into the country.
