US President Donald Trump plans to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin the possible transfer of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.

He told Fox News reporters aboard his plane during a trip to Israel.

According to him, he wants to talk to Putin and inform him that the US may transfer these missiles to Ukraine, which could potentially influence the Russian president’s next steps in the war against Ukraine.

“If this war is not going to get settled, I’m going to send them Tomahawks,” Trump said.

He adds that he intends to ask Putin how he feels about Ukraine receiving these missiles, which, according to him, will be aimed at Russian territory and could be seen as a new act of aggression on the part of Kyiv.

“I can say, ‘Look, if this war is not over, I will send them Tomahawks. It’s an incredible, very offensive weapon. And, frankly, Russia doesn’t need it,’” Trump said.

As a reminder, Donald Trump previously said that he had practically made a decision to supply Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles, but wanted to understand how they would be used to avoid escalation, as those missiles significantly expanded the capabilities of strikes on Russian territory.
