OSINT analysts have identified 33 employees of the Russian penal colony in Russia’s Mordovia, where Ukrainian prisoners are systematically tortured.

The analysts submitted this data for publication on the website of the international intelligence community InformNapalm.

According to human rights activists, as of April 2025, about 700 Ukrainian military servicemen were held in penal colony #10, which has a capacity of 850 beds.

Only 177 Ukrainians have returned home. The rest remain in captivity, fighting not only for their freedom but also for their right for life.

Prison No. 10 is located in the village of Udarnoye, Zubovo-Polyansky district of Mordovia. It is subject to a special regime – complete isolation and constant pressure on prisoners.

The cruelty of the staff of this institution was reported back in 2012-2014. However, after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the prison turned into a real torture conveyor belt.

According to the prisoners’ testimonies, the methods of influence included stun guns, standing for hours, sleep and food deprivation, and denial of medical treatment.

Even the place of detention was hidden from the prisoners – before the exchange, many did not know where they were being held. The guards’ faces were hidden under balaclavas and medical masks.

Journalists of the Schemes project managed to identify some of the colony’s employees earlier. After that, OSINT researchers continued their work and collected more detailed data.

As a result, they obtained passport data, phone numbers, and residence addresses of 33 former and current prison staff .

The collected materials were passed to the international intelligence community InformNapalm for publication. The identified individuals include management, medics and ordinary employees involved in torture and crimes against humanity.

After the Schemes investigation was made public, the Investigative Committee and the FSS instructed the staff of the penal colony to “increase responsibility for leaking information.” This demonstrates the Kremlin’s fear of exposing the truth about war crimes.
