The United States has invited more than 40 allies to meet and discuss Ukraine’s longer-term security needs.
Militarnyi reports about it with reference to AFP.
The meeting will happen at the Rammstein Air Base in Germany, allegedly on April 26.
As of April 23, 2022, defense ministers and senior generals of 20 countries, both NATO and non-NATO members, have already confirmed their participation.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby called the meeting a consultation that would examine how Ukraine’s partners could contribute to expanding its military strength after the war ends. This regards the modernization of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The United States will be represented by Lloyd Austin, US Defense Secretary.
He also plans to discuss how the Allies could continue to assist with Ukraine’s current needs and what weapons the various partners could be supplying as the war progresses. As of now, the United States is leading among approximately 30 countries in supplying military equipment, munitions, and other supplies to Ukrainian forces to sustain the fight.
