The Defense Forces of Ukraine have regained control of eight settlements in the Kherson region.

The Operational Command “South” reported that in the Kherson region, on the eve of a sham “referendum” on proclaiming a self-styled “republic” in the Kherson region, Russians tried to intensify their offensive.

Russian attempts at advancing to Oleksandrivka and Tavria remained unsuccessful.

As were the attempts to seize Mykolayivka.

“The infliction of artillery damage on the general support group, the enemy’s attack was repulsed,” said the Operational Command “South” in its statement.

The Ukrainian servicemen have regained control over eight settlements in the region. The names of those settlements have not yet been specified.

In addition, the report states that in the area of Kyselivka, the Defense Forces of Ukraine had opened fire on enemy forces that had been preparing for the offensive. The invaders were preparing to attack Posad-Pokrovske. The Russians suffered heavy losses and retreated toward Chornobaivka.

The total losses incurred by the Russian troops include 74 servicemen and 13 units of heavy equipment, including two main battle tanks, a multiple rocket launch system, six armored and engineering vehicles, and four reconnaissance drones.

Previously, the servicemen showed a defeated convoy of Russians in the Kherson region.
