The Belarusian Foreign Ministry handed a note to Ihor Kyzym, Ambassador of Ukraine to Minsk, which claims that Ukraine is allegedly planning to strike at Belarus.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported this.
“This information does not correspond to reality. We categorically reject yet another insinuation of the Belarusian regime. We do not rule out that the handing over of the diplomatic note may be part of the plan of the Russian Federation to carry out a provocation to further accuse Ukraine,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said.
Also, the Ukrainian diplomatic institution called on the people of Belarus not to succumb to provocations and propaganda.
“Ukraine has never encroached on foreign territories. We strictly adhere to the fundamental norms and principles of international law and the UN Charter,” the statement emphasizes.
The day before, Viktor Khrenin, Minister of Defense of Belarus, announced the supply of new weapons, namely the Iskander SRBM and S-400 SAM. He also announced the “presentation of combat unmanned systems” yet did not specify what is meant by that.
At the same time, at the end of September, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that they recorded some military activity in Belarus.
In particular, the preparation and repair of the Luninets air base, the deployment of the S-400 battalion, and a number of radars at the Zyabrovka airfield, along with the Iskander SRBM battalion in the area of Osipovichi which is 180 km away from the border of the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine.
On October 4, during a meeting on military security, Oleksandr Lukashenko claimed that there was no need to announce mobilization. At the same time, he confirmed that the country is participating in the war against Ukraine on the side of the Russian invaders.
