The United Kingdom is transitioning into a “new phase” in its support for Ukraine. This would mean that the British government is planning to provide the Ukrainian servicemen with more powerful weapons.
“Ukrayinska Pravda” reports about it with the reference to Times.
Boris Johnson, UK’s Prime Minister, claimed before the Cabinet yesterday that he would want to provide Ukraine with “more lethal” military aid as he expects that vladimir putin would try to “twist the knife”.
Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, Chief of Defence Staff, gave a briefing for the British Ministers. In the briefing he stated that the war has evolved into “more traditional warfare” kind as Ukraine has moved from attempting to repel the russian forces to holding ground and retaking territory.
Thus, he claimed that the UK would be transitioning into a “new phase” in its support for Ukraine.
A Times source shared: “The Ukrainian army is not only holding big cities, it is also forcing the russians to retreat. Our support must change alongside with this.”
As reported earlier, the United Kingdom had provided Ukraine with thousands of NLAW anti-tank missile systems. In addition, Britain had already delivered a batch of Starstreak MANPADS.
