The artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted losses on Russians’ expensive equipment.

A rare radar system of Russian occupiers was destroyed in the Zaporizhzhia Region.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine released a video of the defeat of an enemy radar.

According to the Operational Command “South”, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a rare example of Russian military equipment — the Zoopark-1M reconnaissance and counter-battery radar system on August 19 in the Zaporizhzhia Region.

The military stressed that in addition, four units of enemy vehicles and armored vehicles were destroyed.

“An accurate hit at certain coordinates completely disabled the equipment, which made it possible to adjust the fire of enemy artillery,” the report said.

The published video showcased how the Russians placed their radar system on a field near the forest. Near the radar was a truck, probably the Ural, which was used to transport personnel and goods.

The first artillery round hit directly at the Zoopark-1M, which was recorded on video by a Ukrainian drone with the help of which Ukrainian gunners adjusted their fire.

After an accurate shot, at least five more shells of Ukrainian artillery flew into the position of the invaders. A Russian truck next to the radar caught fire because of the explosions.

Footage of the video of the Ukrainian reconnaissance drone confirmed the defeat of the Zoopark-1M radar intelligence system, which belonged to the invasion troops of Russia.

The main purpose of the Zoopark-1M radar is reconnaissance of the enemy’s threats and adjustment of artillery fire. Projectiles in flight are detected using radar and their trajectory is calculated, allowing to determine both the launch position and the area of strike. This allows not only to detect the firing positions of the enemy, but also to adjust the operation of their own artillery systems.

According to the manufacturer, the performance of the radar and computer system allows it to determine the coordinates of all enemy firing equipment even with massive artillery bombardment, give distributed target instructions, and destroy this artillery before it leaves the firing position.
