In Ukraine, a Russian Ка-52 attack helicopter collided with a tree and suffered damage.
A Russian helicopter, during the flight, clipped the spruce trees.
Such incidents occur when aviation flies at dangerously low altitudes.
Due to the high concentration of anti-aircraft weapons in the Ukrainian military, the Russian combat aviation is forced to fly over Ukraine at low altitudes.
As a result of the collision of a part of the Russian helicopter with a tree, the B-8V20А-tube was damaged.
The B-8V20А-tube is intended for launching 80-millimetre unguided missiles.
The L-370V52 “Vitebsk” on-board defense system also suffered damage.
The system is designed to protect aircraft from anti-aircraft missiles with infrared, radar or combined homing sensors.
The manufacturer states that the “Vitebsk” system is able to track the launch of the missiles and withdraw the missile away from the target.
Structurally, the L-370 “Vitebsk” system is made in the form of blocks that can be placed inside the fuselage and on the external pylons of the aircraft or helicopter.
The main elements of the system are laser irradiation detection equipment, ultraviolet sensor for missile launch detection, control system, optical-electronic suppression station and infrared countermeasure.
Despite the presence of this defense system, the Ukrainian military repeatedly had been shooting down Russian Ка-52 attack helicopters using various missile systems.
