The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported the destruction of a “barge with paratroopers” in the area of occupied Enerhodar. However, this turned out to be the concrete bridge pier of the destroyed bridge across the Dnipro.

The video confirmation of the target destruction was published in the Ministry’s Telegram channel.

The report claims that “during a planned combat mission, a group of Ка-52 helicopters received an order to prevent the movement of the Special Operations Forces units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine across the Dnipro and destroy the advancing enemy forces in the Zaporizhzhya NPP area.”

Russian helicopter pilots identified the “barge” using a sighting system at a distance of 15 kilometers.

Then, they destroyed the imaginary enemy by “hitting the bow and stern of the barge” with two Vikhr guided missiles.

However, in reality, the Russians fired at the bridge pier near Kamianka-Dniprovska.

It was the base of the bridge towards Nikopol, which was built by the German military during World War II. The structure of that bridge was destroyed during the construction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station.

This time, the news caused outrage among Russian military observers.

The public was appalled by such a presentation of information and drew attention to the fact that the “barge with the paratroopers” was not really a barge.

Earlier, the Russians had reported on the alleged attempts of the Ukrainian paratroopers to land and their defeat.

In this way, they are likely trying to justify the stay of their troops on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

At the end of August, the special services of the United Kingdom released a picture capturing the Russian military equipment at the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

It recorded three Russian armored vehicles and two military trucks located approximately 60 meters away from the fifth reactor of the NPP.

Earlier, one of the NPP engineers shared that Russia was hiding the military equipment under the gallery crossings between buildings.
