The Russian United Aircraft Corporation handed over another batch of Su-34 fighter-bomber to the Russian Air Force.

The Russian media reported this.

The corporation transferred a batch of two Su-34 fighter bombers, manufactured at the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association Plant, to the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The manufacturer declares that the aircraft passed a full set of ground and flight tests prior to their transfer to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

These fighter bombers are likely to be the fourth batch of modernized Su-34M ordered by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in 2020.

In November of last year, Militarnyi reported that the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association Plant transferred the third batch of four Su-34 fighter-bomber to the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Based on the confirmed information alone, since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian forces have lost 21 Su-34 and Su-34M aircraft.

Russia is losing more planes than it has time to produce. While the last two fighter-bombers were assembled at the plant, Russia lost three aircraft of this type.

Su-34

The Su-34 is a Soviet/Russian all-weather two-seat fighter bomber developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau based on the design of the Soviet Su-27 fighter jet.

The aircraft is designed to carry out precise missile and bomb strikes on enemy ground targets in operational and tactical depth and to fight air targets.

The aircraft has a combat radius between 600 and 1,100 kilometers depending on the load. The payload is 8 tons, within which it can carry bombs weighing up to 500 kilograms or two 1,500 kg bombs.

In addition to them, the aircraft is also armed with a 30mm GSh-30-1 autocannon. It has separate hardpoints for R-27 and R-73 air-to-air missiles.
