The Netherlands is set to ship over the heavy equipment, including armored vehicles, to Ukraine to assist in the war with Russia.
Militarnyi informs about this with reference to Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands.
Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, and Kajsa Ollongrenand, Minister of Defense held negotiations with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
Together with its allies, the Netherlands will also consider supplying additional heavy equipment.
“We expressed our support as Russia begins a renewed offensive. The Netherlands will be sending heavier material to Ukraine, including armored vehicles,” the Prime Minister said.
Recently, Ukraine’s partners have been more actively shipping over the necessary weapons. Specifically, Slovakia handed over the S-300 air defense system to Ukraine.
The United Kingdom has announced the shipment of the Mastiff protective armored vehicles to Ukraine. At the same time, Scott Morrison, Australian Prime Minister announced the transfer of the Bushmaster armored personnel carriers to Ukraine.
In addition, the United States has shipped eighteen 155-mm howitzers and 40,000 artillery shells to Ukraine, as well as other necessary equipment.
Back in late February, the Netherlands has in turn decided to send to Ukraine 200 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles.
Before the start of the full-scale invasion, the Netherlands announced the supply of sniper rifles, radar systems, minesweepers, and other military equipment to Ukraine.
These included two battlefield surveillance radars and five enemy artillery detection radars, as well as 100 sniper rifles with 30,000 units of relevant ammunition.
The Netherlands is also assisting with medicine. Thus, in March, a field hospital was opened in Ukraine, which was handed over to the country by the decision of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
