The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine showed the hit of the Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system in the Belgorod region.
The corresponding video was published by the press service of the DIU.
Thus, Ukrainian intelligence officers confirmed the information previously reported by Militarnyi.
The military intelligence reported that the attack on an enemy air defense facility had taken place near the village of Golovchine in the Grayvoronskyi district in the Belgorod region.
A successful attack against the Pantsir-S1 enemy anti-aircraft missile and gun system took place on February 29, 2024.
Intelligence officers showed video of a kamikaze drone hitting the side of the SAM.
At this moment, Russians and the air defense system itself were monitored by a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone, with which, probably, the DIU operators adjusted their actions.
It is reported that as a result of the target effects, the Russian air defense system had been damaged.
Two members of the aggressor country’s army were also wounded.
“After hitting the Pantsir, it was disabled, and its crew suffered sanitary losses ― two Russian invaders were wounded,” the DIU noted.
As previously reported, in January this year, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense published a video of an attack on enemy air defense systems. As part of this special operation, Ukrainian military intelligence operators used attack drones, after which two Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense systems were disabled.
The Russian Pantsir-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile system is designed for the close cover of civilian and military facilities from air attacks. The system’s main weapons include two 2А38М twin 30mm guns and 12 57Е6-Е anti-aircraft two-stage solid-fuel missiles.
