The Czech Republic has provided CZK 3 billion (almost $128 million) in military assistance to Ukraine.
Officials of the Czech Ministry of Defense reported about this.
For security reasons, the Ministry of Defense has not specified which weapons were shipped.
It was previously reported that the Czech Republic began supplying Ukraine with defense weapons before the aggression.
A special account has also been set up at the Ukrainian Embassy in Prague to raise money for arms purchases.
At the same time, the Czech Republic is currently negotiating a possible collaboration model regarding the military aid for Ukraine with Germany.
Germany has offered the Czech Republic military material and weapons in exchange for equipment that Prague would send over to the Ukrainian army.
The Czech army can send Soviet-era equipment to Ukraine that the Ukrainian soldiers know how to use.
“Currently, the German side is talking about developing a cooperation model, and not about a specific proposal. We are glad that the German side has decided to intensify military assistance to Ukraine,” the Czech Republic said.
According to the statements, the Czech Republic is not yet negotiating a similar proposal with the other allies.
Since the beginning of the war, the Czech Republic has been shipping small arms, missiles, and medical equipment to Ukraine.
Then the Czech Ministry of Defense is no longer specifying the exact composition of aid to Ukraine due to security reasons.
“The current cost of military aid to Ukraine is now almost three billion korunas,” said the statement.
According to the media reports, the Czech Republic has also shipped the heavy equipment to Ukraine, which included Dana self-propelled howitzers, RM-70 multiple rocket launchers, Soviet-made T-72 tanks, and infantry fighting vehicles.
Ukraine has also received military equipment from the Czech Republic, which was purchased thanks to donors and was organized with the help of the Czech Ministry of Defense and the Embassy of Ukraine. By mid-April, citizens and companies had donated over a billion korunas.
At the same time, Czech defense companies are repairing Ukrainian tanks and other military vehicles.
Last week, the Ministry of Defense announced that the first contract was regarding the repair of T-64 tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
