A soldier of the 80th Separate Galician Air Assault Brigade told how they managed to capture an advanced Russian T-90M Proryv tank in the Kursk region.

The press service of the 80th Air Assault Brigade published an interview with the soldier.

The tank was captured during one of the raiding operations of the 80th Air Assault Brigade behind enemy lines, where they were supposed to clear enemy positions.

During this operation, the military spotted a T-90M Proryv tank, which one of the Russian soldiers tried to start but failed.

Later, when the tank fell into the hands of the Ukrainian military, who were supposed to evacuate it as a trophy, they reported that the Russian military had failed to start it during the battle because the batteries were completely discharged.

According to an officer of the 80th Air Assault Brigade, after replacing the batteries, the military managed to start the tank about 10 times and drive it toward their own positions.

The trophy tank was given its own name – “Pirozhok” (Pie) – and according to the new crew, they did not like it very much because of the heavy control system that uses levers to turn the hull.

“Come on, it’s hard to drive this junk, you can’t turn the turret properly, the levers are like a GAZ-66 Shishiga, it’s hard to sit, in general, the new crew is a little upset with the vehicle,” an officer of the 80th Separate Galician Air Assault Brigade quoted the new crew as saying.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that Ukrainian tank crews have spoken negatively about the new Russian tanks, which, despite their relatively modern modernization, have poor reliability of onboard systems and fire control systems.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Russian military lost its 100th state-of-the-art T-90M tank.

According to publicly available information, the analyst could count 100 destroyed and damaged T-90M tanks using available photos and videos.

The list also includes vehicles that were captured by the Ukrainian Defense Forces and abandoned by Russian crews on the battlefield without severe damage.
