Units of the 3rd Assault Brigade conducted successful assault operations in the Kharkiv region.

The press service of the 3rd Assault Brigade reported about this in a Telegram.

As a result of successful assault operations near Novovodiane, units of the 3rd Assault Brigade managed to recapture about 2 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory from the Russian invaders.

During the active phase of the offensive, which took place from August 12 to 15, Ukrainian troops took control of the invaders’ battalion defense area, platoon and company strongholds.

“The main task of the operation was to destroy the offensive potential of the 20th Army of the Russian Federation. “As of this moment, this task has been accomplished,” said Colonel Andrii Biletskyi, the brigade commander.

Thanks to the excellent planning of the operation, the brigade’s soldiers inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, who lost about 300 military personnel, a significant amount of equipment, weapons and ammunition.

According to the brigade, the assault operations were carried out in the ratio of forces on the battlefield: 2.5 to 1 in favor of the enemy. This figure does not take into account Russian support forces that tried to reinforce the Russian forces with artillery fire.

“The operation was unique in that we attacked a superior enemy and won. The success depended on detailed planning, non-standard solutions, coordinated work of artillery, air defense, and intelligence. But the heroes of the battlefield were tank crews, sappers, intelligence officers and, above all, soldiers,” Biletskyi added.

Thanks to the assault actions of the 3rd Assault Brigade, the enemy had to relieve pressure and withdraw from the direction of Makiivka.

They also managed to reduce the pressure of Russian units from other critical areas of the front line in the lanes of neighboring brigades.

As previously reported, paratroopers of the 46th Airmobile Brigade repulsed three Russian assaults on their positions and destroyed 13 units of Russian military equipment in the Kurakhove sector.

The defenders used artillery systems: 105 mm L119 cannons provided by partners and attack drones. First, artillery fire immobilized the equipment, and later, drone operators finished it off.
