The Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully combined the capabilities of the Vector reconnaissance drone and the Stark Virtus loitering munition in an operation in the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the official LinkedIn page of Quantum Systems, the Virtus loitering munition was deployed to strike the enemy target, guided by the Vector drone. The Vector drone detected the target and relayed accurate coordinates to ensure a precise and effective attack.
This strike marked the combat debut of the Virtus. Meanwhile, Militarnyi reported back in July 2025 about testing this drone in Ukraine. At that time, Virtus successfully hit a training target at a distance of 40 km using a relay. The developer states that its flight range reaches up to 100 km with a 5-kilogram warhead.
According to Stark Defence, the cruising speed of the Virtus is 120 km/h, and during a dive, it can accelerate up to 250 km/h. The drone is capable of striking both stationary and moving targets. Its battery lasts up to one hour.
Virtus is, to some extent, analogous to the Russian Lancet drone, but it has several differences. In particular, both systems feature an X-wing design, but unlike the Lancet, the German munition performs vertical takeoff, eliminating the need for catapults.
The developers emphasize that the Virtus drone uses artificial intelligence technologies, allowing it to more effectively engage targets and respond to changes in the environment in real time.
