Zaporizhzhia Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) units deepen skills in the basic principles of warfare with tanks.
To master these principles, they use a captured Russian Т-62 tank.
This T-62 is in service with the 110th Territorial Defense Brigade.
Soldiers are trained to operate combat vehicles and perform various tasks on the battlefield.
“Training is difficult, but it helps to realize the importance of teamwork and coordination of actions, which are overseen by a team of professional and experienced instructors who transfer their knowledge and experience,” mentioned Brigade representatives.
In January, volunteers repaired a captured Russian Т-62М tank for the Brigade.
The vehicle was captured in the Kherson direction. Two farmers, Anatolii and Yurii, from Zaporizhzhia, took up repairs and spent a month on this task.
They also repaired a turret mechanism that was damaged during the battle with the Ukrainian military.
The Т-62 tanks, which were developed in 1958 based on the Т-55, have a 115mm smoothbore gun. The tank was handed over to soldiers with full ammunition for this 115mm gun.
The updated vehicle received the designation of Т-62М and the Sheksna anti-tank missile.
Additional protection for the front part of the turret is made of two blocks located on the right and left of the gun embrasure.
Recall that during the counteroffensive actions of the Ukrainian troops in the Kherson region, the Russian military lost a significant number of T-62M and T-62MV tanks.
