During 2026, Turkey is to receive all 40 ordered 155-mm T-155 Panter self-propelled artillery units.
This was reported by SavunmaSanayiST.com.
In general, the number of Turkish wheeled self-propelled artillery systems planned to be received per year corresponds to the pace of production of Ukrainian Bohdana systems per month.
The first T-155 Panter self-propelled artillery system with a barrel length of 52 calibers was delivered to the Turkish Army in November 2025.
ASFAT CEO Mustafa Ilbash announced that three artillery systems are expected to be delivered in February 2026, with the remaining 36 units to be delivered in batches of 12 units throughout the year.
The development of the T-155 Panter wheeled artillery system began with the signing of an agreement with the state-owned defense company ASFAT in 2020.
Work actually began in November 2021, and work on the prototype was completed a year later in November 2022.
The first live-fire tests of the prototype were conducted in December 2022. During the tests, the prototype traveled more than 20,000 km and fired approximately 350 shots.
According to the transfer of the first serial model in November 2025, all this work has been completed.
The contractors for the contract are also the following companies:
MKE’s portfolio includes another wheeled self-propelled howitzer, the T-155 Yavuz, with a 6×6 wheel configuration. In 2021, it was publicly announced that it had completed firing tests.
The Yavuz self-propelled howitzer is also armed with a 155 mm gun with a barrel length of 52 calibers. The cab has a bonnetless layout and two rows of seats for a crew of five with light armor that can protect the crew from bullets and debris.
