The Swedish government will finance the production of Ukrainian weapons based on the Danish model.
This is stated in a statement by the government of the country.
The amount and timing of the funding are not disclosed, as well as the list of types of weapons to be financed.
The statement says that, for example, the production of Bohdan self-propelled artillery systems or 155-mm ammunition could be financed.
At the same time, the statement notes that the funding could cover, in particular, the production of Bohdan self-propelled artillery systems and 155-mm ammunition.
Kyiv recently hosted a Swedish delegation led by the Director General of Sweden’s Defense Materiel Administration (FMV).
The parties discussed the implementation of a number of bilateral arms supply projects, as well as joint initiatives involving other European countries.
The Swedish side emphasized the importance of receiving feedback on the effectiveness of the transferred weapons and the current needs of Ukrainian defense.
In addition, the delegation emphasized the desire to expand cooperation not only at the interstate level, but also between private defense companies.
Sweden has also proposed to expand the existing memorandum of cooperation with Ukraine, which provides for increased cooperation in several key areas.
Recently, it was reported that Sweden signed a contract for the production and supply of 18 Archer self-propelled artillery systems and 5 ARTHUR counter-battery radars to Ukraine.
The deal is worth about $300 million and is part of the 18th military aid package to Ukraine.
