The 13th Khartiia Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine repelled a Russian assault in the Kharkiv sector.
The brigade’s press service reported on this.
During the enemy’s attempt to capture positions held by the 13th Khartiya Brigade, the Russians suffered significant losses in both equipment and personnel.
The successful defense was achieved due to the timely detection and effective planning of fire damage, which enabled the brigade to halt the Russian convoy.
It should be noted that this attempted assault was carried out without minimal preparation by the enemy and with the use of military equipment along with civilian vehicles that had been modernized in the field.
UAZ vehicles, modified to increase seating capacity for troops, were used for transporting personnel.
The Russian convoy was first hit by artillery fire, targeting their vehicles.
Following the initial assault, drones were deployed to target and destroy the remaining enemy equipment and soldiers.
According to the brigade, to effectively repel the assault, the Khartiya Brigade coordinated closely with the artillery units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, which allowed for successful defensive actions.
On August 13, the 13th Khartiya Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine managed to fend off an armor assault by Russian invaders and burn five Russian tanks.
The enemy’s tank assault involved two convoys of six tanks each, which were covered with massive protection against drone strikes.
Militarnyi previously reported that soldiers of the 79th Separate “Tavrian” Air Assault Brigade destroyed a Russian tank and an armored vehicle.
As a result of a failed assault attempt, the enemy lost a tank and an armored vehicle with troops, 12 invaders were killed and the same number were wounded.
