The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have hit a Russian Coast Guard Rubin-class patrol boat with an attack drone.
They published a freeze frame of the attack on their Telegram page.
The Command did not specify or provide any other details about the attack.
Project 22460 (Rubin-class) Okhotnik patrol boats are relatively modern ships in the Russian FSB Coast Guard and have been built since 2007 at the Almaz shipyard in St. Petersburg and the Vostochnaya Verf in Vladivostok.
Russia has six ships of this class in the Black Sea:
Brief tactical and technical characteristics of the Rubin-class patrol boats:
Displacement: 630 tons
Length: 62.5 meters
Width: 12 meters
Crew: 24 people
Speed: up to 30 knots
Autonomy: up to 60 days
Armament: 30-mm AK-630 artillery unit and 12.7 KORD machine gun
Due to their high autonomy, they can stay at sea for a long time and perform a wide range of functions.
Ships of this class have been repeatedly involved in hybrid aggression against Ukraine. For example, before the large-scale invasion, the ships covered up illegal sand mining in the Gulf of Karkinit.
The patrol boats Bezuprechnyi (351), Provornyi (406), and Ametist (355) were spotted there.
