Elon Musk turned down Pentagon funding to sustain the work of Starlink in Ukraine.

The founder of SpaceX announced this on Twitter.

American businessman Elon Musk announced that he has already donated $100 million to Ukraine.

He shared about this while commenting on yesterday’s post by Stephen King, who offered to donate $8 of the “blue check” payment on Twitter to the Serhiy Prytula Foundation.

“I’ve donated $100M to Ukraine, how much have you donated?” the businessman answered.

Elon Musk also noted that he refused money from the U.S. Department of Defense to maintain the work of Starlink in Ukraine.

“We turned down the DoD money, by the way,” Musk commented on Stephen King’s post.

In October 2022, Elon Musk promised to provide Starlink for Ukraine in any case.

Then, Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, thanked Elon Musk for this commitment.

The dialogue took place in the comment section of the news that the EU could provide funds to pay for Starlink services in our country.

However, on October 14 last year, Elon Musk’s company SpaceX stated that it could no longer pay for Starlink communication services for Ukraine and asked the U.S. Department of Defense to take over funding the Starlink services.

According to SpaceX, the services would cost over $120 million by the end of 2022 and could come to about $400 million over the next 12 months.
