The Defense Forces have shot down a russian Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle.
Militarnyi informs about it.
The 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the unit’s soldiers shot down an enemy drone.
The Orlan-10 drone was adjusting the fire of russian artillery.
With its help, the enemy fired not only against the positions of the Ukrainian servicemen, but also at peaceful villages along the front line.
It was reported that this enemy UAV is equipped with video cameras with a 360-degree viewing angle and can go up to 5 km high. However, usually these devices operate lower – at altitudes of about 2 km.
Orlan-10 is a medium-range, multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle, it is used at distances of up to 120 km from the control point. In autonomous mode, it can fly a distance of 600 km.
Time in the air – up to 18 hours, flight speed – 90-150 km per hour. It weighs 14 kg, and is launched from a special catapult.
With the help of this UAV, the russians are not only correcting artillery fire, but are also conducting radio reconnaissance and jamming mobile communications.
“This Orlan-10 UAV only managed to reach the positions of the 128th brigade, and then “suddenly fell down and crashed,” said the Mountain Assault Brigade.
Previously, during a combat clash with the russian occupation forces, the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine soldiers have neutralized an observation post of the russian national guard from Dagestan, destroying its equipment and seizing the documents of one of the occupiers.
The russian national guards had set up their observation post in a forest plantation.
