The I Want to live project has released data on the losses of the Russian army since the beginning of 2025. The total losses of the occupation forces amount to 281,550 people, including killed, wounded, and missing.

According to the project, the Center grouping of troops, which is actively engaged in hostilities on the Pokrovsk and Lyman sectors, suffered the greatest losses.

The total losses of this grouping reached 96.5 thousand people, including 27.7 thousand killed. Some of the most intense fighting is taking place in these areas of the frontline.

The North Military Group is second in terms of casualties. Its units operate in Sumy and northern Kharkiv regions.

Since the beginning of the year, this group has lost 53.5 thousand soldiers. The intensity of fighting in the northern areas is gradually increasing.

The Dnipro group suffered the least losses – 13.2 thousand people. Its activities are limited, and the fighting in this area is localized.

The I Want to live project notes that these figures reflect the current operational situation at the front and include all categories of losses – dead, wounded, and missing.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on October 5th, the most active fighting took place in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka sectors. Ukrainian defenders repelled 99 attacks, and a total of 231 combat engagements were recorded on the frontline.

As of October 6th, 2025, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, on December 24th, 2022, Russian troops have lost 1,116,340 soldiers. Over the past day alone, the occupiers’ losses amounted to 1,090 people.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported that in September 2025 alone, the Russian army lost 28,490 soldiers. This is conditionally equal to the number of almost three motorized rifle divisions.
