A reconnaissance group of the Freedom of Russia Legion penetrated 8 kilometers into the enemy’s rear in the Pokrovsk sector and destroyed the UAV control center of the 7th Company of the 35th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade.
The video of the raid was published by the press service of the Freedom of Russia Legion.
According to the agency, taking advantage of the weather conditions and terrain, the group of the Freedom of Russia Legion quietly went to the area of the control center, where they conducted a fire attack on two enemy positions.
According to the video, the fighters attacked positions located in the forest belt southwest of the village of Shevchenko in the vicinity of Pokrovsk. This is about 6-8 kilometers from the current front line.
The raid was carried out at night, and the factor of surprise allowed for full destruction of all enemy personnel at both positions of the control center with virtually no resistance.
As a result, the enemy lost 7 soldiers killed and 1 wounded. Some of the equipment, including communications equipment, was taken as trophies, while the rest was burned or blown up.
After completing the mission, the Legion soldiers returned to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The result of the losses was confirmed by internal sources of the 35th Brigade and communications intercepts.
In November, the Freedom of Russia Legion captured a Russian junior lieutenant who accidentally got to Ukrainian positions.
He arrived at the site, believing it to be controlled by the invaders, but came across an infantry unit of the Legion.
The prisoner was the commander of a reconnaissance platoon of the 154th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the 104th Airborne Division, Konstantin Alekseyevich Tukhtayev.
According to the Legion, he was supposed to control the discipline of the personnel, in particular, alcohol abuse.
The Freedom of Russia Legion was formed in the spring of 2022 from Russian volunteers, including Russian military personnel who agreed to fight on the side of Ukraine.
