Satellite imagery confirms the destruction of two warehouses storing Shahed-type strike drones and their warheads at the Donetsk airport.

OSINT channel Dnipro Osint published the images.

Judging by the photos, one concrete building was completely destroyed, likely by secondary detonation of warheads. A second building was partially damaged — the roof collapsed over roughly half its area.

Late on the evening of November 5, reports emerged of strikes by the Ukrainian Defence Forces on Russian military facilities in occupied parts of the Donetsk region.

Local residents later posted videos of a large detonation in the area of the former Donetsk International Airport and the nearby village of Spartak.

It was later reported that Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, the Rocket Forces and Artillery, and the reconnaissance unit of the 414th Birds of the Magyar separate unmanned systems brigade have jointly performed the operation.

“The development of this complex target involved months of painstaking reconnaissance, assembled from many small pieces; last night it was struck using the appropriate means of destruction by the SOF and the Missile Troops and Artillery of the Defence Forces of Ukraine,” the USF commander shared.

Dosye Shpiona analysts note that both cruise missiles and strike drones were used in the attack.

The strike destroyed an ammunition depot and a fuel storage site, eliminated a UAV pre-launch preparation point, and damaged power and communications nodes.

Analysis of new facilities at the Donetsk airport by CyberBoroshno analysts

According to their information, at the time of the strike, the airfield held up to 1,000 Geran-2 (Shahed-type) drones and more than 1,500 combat units. The CyberBoroshno community, from its own sources, gives a similar estimate, putting the probable total number of Shahed and Gerbera drones stored near the Donetsk airport at about 1,150–1,200. It is not yet known how many were destroyed.

The construction of infrastructure to support Shahed and Gerbera drones near Donetsk airport was first reported in August.

The launch site is believed to be intended primarily for strikes on frontline targets rather than deep-rear targets, including the contested Pokrovsk direction.
