According to satellite images released by Schemes journalists, the strike hit several oil storage facilities.

The storage facility in the Rostov region was hit on the night of June 18. The fire lasted for about a day at the tank farm.

On the morning of June 19, the regional office of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a day after the attack, the fire at the oil depot had been localized to an area of 3,200 square meters.

Due to attacks like the one in Azov, some oil refineries have stopped operating their primary oil processing units.

According to Reuters, at least seven Russian plants shut down their facilities in the first quarter.

Due to the attacks on the refineries, Russia has increased its purchases of gasoline from Belarus and asked Kazakhstan for supplies. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the attacks on the refineries a response to Russian troops’ strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector.

As previously reported, on the night of June 18, a Russian oil depot in Krasnodar Krai on the shores of the Kerch Strait came under attack. It is claimed that Neptune cruise missiles could have been used to carry out the strike.
