Russians are using large agricultural drones to deliver cargo to islands on the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.
Meduza reported on this.
The Russian invaders released photos of large drones allegedly being tested on the islands in the lower reaches of the Dnipro River, where the invaders are trying to hold their positions.
The Russians compare these large quadcopters and hexacopters to Ukrainian heavy drones, which the invaders call “Baba Yaga.”
Every night, they drop shells and anti-tank mines on Russian positions to destroy fortifications and destroy manpower and equipment.
Currently, the Russian invasion army does not have many vehicles of this class. It is likely that the presented large-capacity UAVs are based on Chinese and Russian agricultural drones. It is stated that some of them are capable of carrying up to 40 kilograms over a distance of up to 15 kilometers.
These drones can deliver supplies to the front line, be used as signal repeaters for small drones to extend their range, and as heavy drones.
Russia has also recently started using a new Gerbera multifunctional drone against Ukraine.
This UAV could be used for electronic reconnaissance, as a kamikaze drone, or as a decoy for air defense systems.
The strike version of the Gerbera drone uses a camera, very similar to the one installed on FPV drones, for manual targeting by the operator.
The accuracy of the targeting depends on the operator’s skill because even in the propaganda video, it can be seen that the drone did not hit the target but exploded nearby.
It is also likely that the drone can fly along a predetermined route without operator intervention.
