Russian invaders on ATVs are attempting to seize villages in the border area of the Sumy region.
Recently, one of these attacks has been repulsed by the soldiers of the 36th Marine Brigade.
The invaders tried to reach the settlement using two ATVs, carrying around six soldiers.
Russian movements were constantly monitored by reconnaissance drones, which later guided the actions of strike drone operators.
It is quite difficult for a drone to hit a fast-moving ATV, which often manages to deliver infantry closer to the settlement.
However, this time, Ukrainian drones successfully struck the vehicle and later eliminated the infantry in the settlement.
“Steel birds of Mykolaiv marines are cutting down the Russian horde in the border area,” the military said.
Brigade officer Oleksandr Zamsha stated that the Russians were trying to gain a foothold in the border villages of the Sumy region.
Small assault groups of the Russian invaders are attempting to cross the border in the Sumy region. They are being held back by marines in coordination with border guards.
The invaders aim to create flashpoints of tension in border villages. If they manage to infiltrate, they spread throughout the settlement, forcing the Ukrainian Defense Forces to divert resources to push them out—shifting focus from other areas.
“Tactically, their goal is to gain a foothold in the village, secure control, and set the stage for further advances,” explained Oleksandr Zamsha.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that Russia was planning a new offensive in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. According to him, the Russian leadership is trying to buy time to carry out the plans that previously failed.
