The invaders continue to strike border areas of the Sumy Region.
The enemy opens mortar fire with and drops improvised explosive devices from UAVs.
The relevant statement was made by the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi.
On the morning of June 6, Russian troops used mortars four times to fire at the Velyka Pysarivka community; 10 more strikes were recorded in the afternoon.
An enemy UAV dropped an unknown explosive device.
During the day, about 30 strikes were recorded in the Shalyhine community.
Dmytro Zhyvytskyi also noted that the invaders were shelling their own territories as well.
“The Russians continue to shell their own territories. They fired at the settlement of Tyotkino. According to them some houses, a railway station, and a factory were damaged”, he wrote.
Russian media reported the shelling of the village from Russia’s side. Per usual, they accused Ukrainian servicemen.
The Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, said the invaders were shelling the region’s border areas, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces were keeping the situation under control.
“Everything is controlled. The enemy keeps launching mortar strikes at the Chernihiv border areas, but we are ready for any development,” Chaus said.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that in the Siverskyi direction the invaders continue enhanced protection of the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Bryansk and Kursk regions.
There are separate units of the enemy at the border firing at civilian infrastructure of Chernihiv and Sumy regions of Ukraine.
The Sievierodonetsk direction now remains the most difficult part of the frontline. In certain parts of the city the enemy holds a tenfold artillery advantage.
