Russian resistance movements signed cooperation agreement in Ukraine

Representatives of the Freedom of Russia Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Russian National Republican Army signed a declaration on cooperation in Ukraine.

They also created a joint Political Center, which will be headed by Ilya Ponomarev, Russian opposition politician and State Duma deputy in 2007-2016.

Representatives of these formations said they shared the common task of liberating Russia from the Putin regime.

They also declared their intention to put an end to the terror of the Kremlin security forces against citizens in Russia and other countries, and an early end to the aggressive war against Ukraine.

In particular:

• They organize coordination of their actions in armed resistance to the Putin regime.
• They will conduct a common information policy, explaining their goals and objectives to Russian society, as well as providing agitation among opponents of Putinism.
• They accept the common white-blue-white flag as a symbol of joint struggle, while maintaining a separate symbolism for each of their units.
• They will form a Political Center with the aim of representing their interests to the public authorities of different countries and for coordinating common information policy. The coordination of the activities of the Center is entrusted to Ponomarev Ilya Vladimirovich.

The formations confirm that they took up arms to fight exclusively with usurpers of power in Russia, instigators and organizers of the war and their servants and financiers.

As noted, the goal is a free and democratic Russia, built on the principles of self-government of citizens and social justice, without oligarchy and corruption, without police violence and arbitrariness of officials, without wars and annexations, without colonies and occupied territories, where every person living in the country chooses its own way.

“We urge representatives of the Russian opposition and ordinary citizens to reject all doubts and disagreements and join our struggle,” the statement said.

Russian resistance movement

The Freedom of Russia Legion unit is the most publicized Russian unit in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Legion became known in the spring of 2022, when several men in masks and Russian camouflage uniforms gave a press conference in Kyiv. They said they were former members of Russia’s army. According to them, they were captured and decided to switch sides to help a country that has been subjected to Kremlin aggression.

Recently, the creation of a new unit – the Russian Volunteer Corps – was announced. Unlike the Legion of Freedom of Russia, the leadership of the corps is staking on Russian immigrants instead relying on former Russian servicemen.

The formation of the National Republican Army is a national liberation organization in Russia itself, of which little is known. In Ukraine, this organization is represented by Ilya Ponomarev.
