On the evening of July 1, the invasion forces conducted an air strike on the island of Zmiinyi.

This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhny.

He published this information on his social media.

Zaluzhny noted that the Russian command used a pair of Su-30 fighter jets, which took off from Belbek airbase. Thus, the invaders have repeatedly violated their own statement of “gesture of goodwill.”

“The command of the armed forces of the Russian Federation does not adhere even to its own statements declaring a “gesture of goodwill.” Today about 18:00 a pair of Su-30 fighters of Russia` Air Forces from the Belbek airbase twice inflicted an air strike with phosphorus bombs on the island of Zmiinyi, where allegedly “completed the tasks,” — wrote Zaluzhny.

He also noted that those who talk about any agreements with the Russian Federation “should know these facts.”

“The only thing the enemy is consistent with is the constant “accuracy” of the strikes. Attention to the video,” the Commander-in-Chief added.

As reported previously, on June 30, the OC “South” representatives stated that Russian troops left Zmiinyi island. They noted that it became possible due to the successful military operation’s regular stage by the rocket and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launching strikes on the Zmiyinyi Island. Upon the strikes, the enemy hastily evacuated the remains of their garrison.

Later, the Russian defense Ministry called the withdrawal of the remnants of its units “a gesture of goodwill.”
