Preparations for the Independence Day of Ukraine have begun in the center of Kyiv.
The destroyed Russian military equipment is being installed on Khreshchatyk Street.
Burnt enemy tanks, armored combat vehicles, a Buk M2 anti-aircraft missile system launcher, and the remains of various missiles are placed there.
The installation works on the central street of the capital began on Monday morning, August 21. Local authorities note that there will be no mass events on the Independence Day in Kyiv, only an exhibition of destroyed enemy equipment, as was last year.
Due to the preparations for the events, vehicular traffic on Khreshchatyk from Independence Square to Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street will be closed until August 28.
According to Suspilne, about 20 units of the destroyed equipment of the invaders have already been brought to the main street of the Ukrainian capital. These are tanks, self-propelled howitzers, infantry fighting vehicles, various wheeled armored personnel carriers, amphibious infantry fighting vehicles, Tigr armored vehicles, and the remains of Russian missiles used by the invaders for the attacks on Ukraine.
Here you can see Russian tanks of various modifications damaged as a result of hostilities.
The Russians have been losing a significant number of their tanks during the active hostilities, which they are trying to further protect by installing grating screens and containers with dynamic protection. Recently, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have stopped an advancing convoy of Russian T-90M tanks and infantry fighting vehicles in the Donetsk region.
BMP-2s, burned Grad and Uragan multiple rocket launchers, 152-mm MSTA-S self-propelled howitzers, and several Russian Typhoon-K AFVs that were destroyed in battles with the invaders were also brought to Khreshchatyk.
On June 14, Ukrainian HIMARS rocket systems hit four more Russian Msta-S self-propelled howitzers in the Donetsk region.
As for the KAMAZ-63968 Typhoon-K armored vehicles. This armored vehicle has been in service with the Russian army since 2015. 4-class armor should protect against bullets of 14.5 mm caliber. The body must withstand explosive devices with a capacity of up to 8 kg in TNT equivalent. The vehicle can accommodate three crew members and 14 soldiers at the same time.
During the fierce fighting with the Russian invaders, the Ukrainian Defense Forces captured several undamaged Typhoon-K armored vehicles and are now using them against the invaders.
