Fighting with Russian invasion forces continues on the line of contact in the south of Ukraine.

This was announced today by the Operational Command “South” on Facebook.

The invaders are seeking out ways and means to resist the counterattacks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The aggressors have blown up the bridges over the Inhulets river in the area of Davydiv Brid and Velyka Oleksandrivka (Kherson region).

“Continuing to cover the approaches to their positions with artillery and mortar fire, the enemy is shelling the populated localities with cluster munitions from Tornado-S multiple rocket launchers and Pion 203mm long-range artillery,” the Operational Command “South” said.

It is reported that in the area of Dobryanka, in the north of the Kherson region, an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group tried to break through to the rear of Ukrainian units.

However, after being repulsed by the Ukrainian defenders, the enemy retreated to its initial positions.

Their air reconnaissance was neutralized with an accurate shot of the Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile unit soldier.

Also, the city of Mykolayiv was attacked yesterday.

“The shells exploded in the yard of the apartment blocks, destroyed outbuildings, garages, and damaged the power line. Many houses now have broken windows. Several shells exploded in the gardens of private households. There are no casualties,” the Operational Command “South” stated.

Previously, the General Staff declared the liberation of the village of Mykolaivka in the Kherson region. During the successful offensive of the Defense Forces units, the enemy suffered losses and withdrew.

Recently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in the Kherson region in several directions simultaneously. The aim of the operation is to split the enemy group into several parts.
