Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said that the Russian military should be ready for a war with NATO in the next decade.
This was reported by Russian media.
“We are talking about ensuring full readiness for any development of the situation in the medium term, in particular for a possible military conflict with NATO in Europe over the next ten years,” Bilousov said at a meeting of the Ministry of Defense.
The meeting was also attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who accused the West of “imposing” its rules on the world, saying it violates “all borders.”
According to Putin, Moscow is forced to respond to the actions of Western countries, which, as he put it, “are pushing the situation to the red line.”
In November, Militarnyi reported that Germany’s largest companies were being advised to prepare for a possible war with Russia.
At the time, it was reported that the government had developed a secret “German Operational Plan” in case of a military invasion.
In particular, it lists all the buildings and infrastructure facilities that require special protection for military purposes. The document also contains a detailed action plan for defense.
In addition, a special plan is envisaged in the event of a direct clash between Russia and NATO in Eastern Europe.
Recently, it was reported that the Russian army plans to form unmanned systems troops based on the experience of the war against Ukraine.
The plans to form a new kind of troops were publicly announced by the minister during a meeting of the military department’s board, which was attended by President Vladimir Putin.
It is not yet known what structure and tasks the new formation will have, nor whether it will include existing units of UAV operators operating as part of the occupation forces in Ukraine.
