Russian aircraft struck the bridge over the Kosheva River in Kherson on evening, August 2, damaging a key route connecting the city’s central district with the Korabel neighborhood.
The attack, which occurred around 6:00 p.m., involved two guided aerial bombs dropped on the city, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, Kherson Regional Military Administration Head.
One of the bombs hit the automobile bridge, causing severe structural damage.
While the bridge did not collapse, a large crater formed on the roadway, rendering it impassable to vehicles.
The blast wave also damaged at least three private homes and one apartment building near the impact site. Residents reported hearing a powerful explosion.
Engineers are currently assessing the extent of the damage and evaluating the condition of the bridge.
