Another Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter was shot down in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Russian sources on the social network report that it was a “friendly fire”.
The Ka-52 helicopter was allegedly shot down by the Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and artillery system.
“This time, the incident happened in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The crew of Pantsir-S1 detected an object in the night sky and decided to down it. The target was successfully shot down. It turned out later that the object was a friendly Ka-52 helicopter,” the report says.
It is reported that the helicopter crew managed to survive.
The downed Ka-52 helicopter had the hull number RF-91335 (43 yellow, formerly 43 white).
Russia has lost at least 28 Ka-52 attack helicopters since it started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
In October, the British Ministry of Defense reported that Russia had lost over 25% of its fleet of attack helicopters.
Ukrainian air defense forces are regularly shooting down Russian attack helicopters.
As previously reported, Dnipro Anti-aircraft Missile Brigade shot down a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter.
In November, the wreckage of a downed Russian Ka-52 helicopter was discovered in the Kherson region.
Also, these helicopters are being destroyed by saboteurs on the territory of Russia. A strong explosion took place at the Veretye Air Base on the night of October 31.
