On Wednesday, February 11, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Lviv. Explosions were reported in the city during an air alert.

The alert was declared across Ukraine at around 14:39 after the takeoff of a MiG-31K hypersonic missile carrier from the Savasleyka airfield, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi wrote on his Telegram channel.

Monitoring channels reported launches of Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles toward western Ukraine.

According to preliminary reports, at least three air targets were detected heading toward Lviv, followed by explosions within the city limits.

Later, Mayor Sadovyi confirmed that Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted the Russian missiles.

Kinzhal missiles, launched from MiG-31K aircraft, are considered difficult to intercept due to their high speed and ballistic trajectory.

Lviv and other western Ukrainian regions remain periodically targeted by missile strikes from aircraft and long-range weapons.
